Herdy Gerdy is designed to provide classic role-play adventuring with a few unconventional twists. Cartoonish characters interact in detailed 3D environments, giving the game a distinct look. The story`s hero is a boy named Gerdy, who begins the game with big dreams and an ego to match. Gerdy`s father is the greatest herder in all the land, a distinction with which Gerdy himself dreams to someday be honored. When Gerdy`s father falls under the spell of a powerful curse, however, everything begins to change for the worse. Gerdy must then set off to explore the land and prove his talents by herding the stray creatures he finds along the way. Chances are that he will not win the praise and adoration he so desires until he learns that there are even more important things in life. Herdy Gerdy is primarily a platform game with strategy and puzzle elements. The levels involve Gerdy traversing hazardous areas with timed jumps, avoiding or destroying obstacles. A significant portion of the gameplay is dedicated to collecting various animals, leading them onto a safe path,. Each of the animals has its own behavior and skills (requiring the player to utilize different tactics to capture them.
